We won first place on Coquitlam's 2013 Environmental Award for Youth Category and received a prize in the amount of $100.00. The prize award came timely for the wrap up party plan's food expense.  Thank you Mayor Richard Stewart and Environmental Stewardship Coordinator, Selk Caresse for this glorious recognition.
Let's keep up the good work Key Clubbers!

For two years since Pinetree Key Club has been chartered in 2011, we've been cleaning up Lafarge Lake Park and its surrounding areas by picking up all bio-degradable and non-biodegradable materials left behind during events and by park users. Close to full four bags of trash is collected on each monthly clean ups. Also, on clean up days, we are asked by some young and old park goers, who we are or what we do and why.
We have many reasons to proudly answer their questions.

We also enjoyed the award's reception that day, from Terry Kim's "Vacuum" to "
Julia Apele's "Last one, I swear"
Caresse is yet to update the photos. I will upload to our flickr album as soon as I get them. Meantime, the city also posted this in our local newspaper
I must admit that I couldn't contain my excitement as soon as I read Caresse's email

Mother's Day Flower Basket Sale> Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation> Two Saturdays & a Sunday> May 4, 5, & 12, 2013 > 11:00-2:00pm & 2:00-5:00pm

Attendees:
Laura, Myra, Eva, Sarah, Edward Zhou Mu Hua, Ian Chan, Louis Lou, Julia Apeles, Annie Tseng, and June Wu

Details:
Last day of the Mother's Day Flower Sale was a big hit! Though it started with a number of customers waiting from 9:00-11:00 AM for the delivery of flowers to arrive, I was so surprised to be welcomed with PATIENCE and UNDERSTANDING from our customers.

So, while orders pour in, along with Harvey, I tried to keep in touch with our coordinator who has just been out of the hospital (one of the reasons why May 10 sale was cancelled). The truck came and everything went flying from fast to slow during lunch until it started to pick up again after lunch. Soon we were helping Harvey load things and our starving, tired selves dispersed our goodbyes.

Not everyone knows what goes on behind the scenes of any planned event. This is one of those days when it didn't go as planned. BUT, one must have the character the customers I mentioned above in order to feel the value of service you are diving into as a KEY CLUBBER.
Lovely first Saturday with Harvey & Elizabeth; Us four Executives, Edward and Ian; Chillin' with guitar, sales reached 110 baskets for those two days. One lonely Sunday though, with just moi on the house.

In all, from May 4, May 5, and May 11, our club sold 146 baskets!
